Peter Warnek

PETER WARNEK is Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Oregon. He is a co‑founder of the Ancient Philosophy Society, the author of The Descent of Socrates: Self‑Knowledge and Cryptic Nature in the Platonic Dialogues (Indiana University Press) and co‑translator of Martin Heidegger’s 1931 lecture course, Aristotle’s Metaphysics Θ 1-3 (Indiana University Press), and of Schelling’s early essay on the Timaeus. He has published numerous articles on Greek philosophy, German Idealism and contemporary European thought.
