We współczesnym świecie media zmierzają do umacniania swojego wpływu i siły oddziaływania na społeczeństwo w coraz rozleglejszych sferach życia człowieka. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę analizy roli mediów w procesie zarządzania kryzysowego, ich funkcji i znaczenia w warunkach wystąpienia stanów nadzwyczajnych i sytuacji
kryzysowych.



The article presents the content and the role of the media in the process of crisis management. In the introduction, the paper describes the concept of crisis management and the meaning of communication in crisis management. Furthermore, the author discusses the functions of the media and its importance in the dissemination of information in emergency
situations. He analyzes, what should be changed to make the system of communication between the media and representatives of authority and public administration more efficient in emergency situations.
