Joseph C. Macfarland

JOSEPH C. MACFARLAND is a tutor at St. John’s College, Annapolis, MD, noted for its undergraduate program in the “Great Books.” He is co-editor with Joshua Parens (University of Dallas) of the revised edition of Medieval Political Philosophy: A Sourcebook (2011). In 2014 he served as co-director, with Joshua Parens and Douglas Kries (Gonzaga University), of a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute on “Medieval Political Philosophy: Islamic, Jewish, and Christian.” He has also published on Machiavelli’s life of Castruccio Castracani.
